Crocodile River promotes and performs African and African-influenced music, including Brazilian, Caribbean and Flamenco. By connecting our roster of distinguished performers with audiences of all ages, backgrounds and capabilities, we demonstrate the universal influence of African rhythms and melodies on music the world over. We also develop the careers of chosen performers, and find and create work for them.
Our concerts, workshops, lecture/demonstrations, residences, and other educational programs, including African Arts in Education for schools, make us a leading source of African music and cultural activity in New England.
In support of our mission, Crocodile River has recently entered into a working partnership with the Gallery of African Art in Clinton, Massachusetts, with the common goal of increasing awareness and appreciation of African art and music throughout the Northeast.
